In his sophomore year, he was given the “Alpha Rising” award, presented to the team’s most improved player. During his junior season, the NC State offensive line ranked second in the FBS in sacks allowed, with 13 in 13 games, and Prescod racked up 48 knockdown blocks (including 7 against Syracuse). As a senior, Prescod received the highest PFF grade among all offensive linemen (85.7), allowing just 6 hurries on 342 pass blocking snaps and tallying the highest run-blocking grade by a wide margin. Prescod was named a 2018 ESPN All-American Womens Bryce Love Jersey , alongside offensive linemen like Beau Benzschawel and Dalton Risner, players with early Day 2 grades. Despite all of this, Prescod failed to get an invite to the Combine.StrengthsEnormous man with lots of strength. Can work effectively in the phone booth, as long as he doesn’t have to move laterally much. Good hands and ability to control the point of attack.Effective at the second level. Nasty finisherWeaknessesPoor balance. Tends to lunge.Only has utility as a guard. Limited athleticism.Has had an injury history.Let’s see his workHow He Would Fit On the RedskinsI’m frankly baffled by the lack of hype around Prescod, who was a beast on one of the most effective offensive lines in college football. His center, Garrett Bradbury, is a consensus first round pick, yet Prescod failed to even get an invite to the Combine. I may be missing something, but in the absence of any blatant warning signs, I think Prescod would be a steal in the late rounds. His strengths - literally - lend themselves to him playing in a power scheme where his relative lack of reflexive speed won’t be such an impediment, and where he can rag-doll defensive linemen. If we haven’t taken a guard earlier, and maybe even if we have, the Redskins’ representative should run, not walk, to select Prescod in the 5th round if he happens to still be available.
